The interesting part of this big town is the old centre on the borders of the river Saône.

Autun is an old roman fortress. Unfortunately there is not much left of it. But a large part of the imposing city wall is still in place. The Tourist office is on the 2, av Charles de Gaulle, close to the market place with it's beautiful theatre and town hall.

Le Creusot is a combination of several mine worker villages, as a result it does not a have a single town centre, but several. From the dynasty of Schneider rest us the tiny homes. It's a bit disorderly, unattractive city, but it has a few nice attractions. The tourist office is situated next to the castle of the Verrerie.
